The given site is located on the waterfront of Downtown Seattle, Washington. It is one of the last empty lots of the waterfront. In consequence of the demolition of the viaduct, downtown will open to the water, which will generate numerous design opportunities for this site. For the design of this project, various studies and research have been conducted to develop the massing. This is a collaborative project, in which one of the main concepts that impacted the form is the sun studies. Hence, to develop the proposed program and use, Museum of Light, the surplus of sunlight and the lack of sunlight was utilized for different spaces used for different potential exhibitions. Furthermore, this form generates a promenade that seeks to embark the users on a journey that follows a certain narrative as they start from the dark and gradually make their way to the light and eventually end up back in the dark. This narrative can be conceived as a metaphor and/or how ever the user interprets it.
